Who publishes this site

polk.gop is published by the Polk County Republican Executive Committee, the Polk County committee of the Republican Party of Florida, organized under Chapter 103 of the Florida Statutes. On this page, we and the committee mean that organization. Using this site means you accept the terms below.

The mailing address, phone number and email at the bottom of every page all reach us.

This is not a government website, and not the official source on voting

The committee is a political party organization. It is not a government agency and has no role in running an election. We publish dates, deadlines and locations because they are useful and we check them carefully — but the official sources are the Polk County Supervisor of Elections and the Florida Division of Elections. Where anything here differs from what those offices say, believe them, not us.

Nothing on this site can tell you whether you are registered, what is on your ballot, or where you vote. Only the Supervisor of Elections can answer those, and every page that raises the question links to them.

The information here is provided as it is

We work to keep this site accurate and current, and especially anything with a date on it. Even so, information can be incomplete, go out of date, or simply be wrong. This site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, and the committee is not liable for any loss arising from relying on it. Confirm anything that matters — an election date, a deadline, a meeting time — with the office responsible for it.

We may change, move or remove anything on this site at any time.

Links out, and what a link does not mean

This site links to campaign websites, county and state election pages, venues and other organizations. We do not run those sites, are not responsible for their content, and cannot answer for what they do with information you give them. Their terms and their privacy policies apply there, not ours.

A link is not an endorsement. Where this committee has endorsed a candidate, the site says so in as many words, on that candidate's own listing. Absent those words, listing a candidate, an event or an organization is information, not support.

What you send us

When you use a form on this site — contact, volunteer, membership, or submitting a community event — you are confirming that what you enter is accurate and yours to send. Please do not send us someone else's personal information, and do not send anything confidential or sensitive: a web form is not a secure channel for it.

Events submitted for the community calendar are reviewed before anything appears. We may publish them, edit them for length or clarity, decline them, or take them down later, and we are not obliged to explain why. Submitting one gives the committee permission to publish those event details on this site and in its email and social posts.

What happens to everything else you send is set out in the privacy notice, which describes what the site actually does rather than what a generic policy would say.

Contributions

Donations are handled on a separate site run by a payment processor, under that company's terms and privacy policy. The committee never sees your card details.

Contributions to a political committee are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions. Florida law requires this committee to report information about its contributors, including name, address and amount, and those reports are public records.

Every page that asks for money carries the disclaimer the law requires: paid for by the Polk County Republican Executive Committee, not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.

How you may use this site

• Read it, print it, share it and link to it. That is what it is for.
• Do not harvest names, email addresses or phone numbers from it, by hand or by machine, for mailing lists, for sales, or for anything else.
• Do not use the forms to send unlawful, threatening or harassing material, to advertise, or to represent yourself as someone you are not.
• Do not attempt to break into, overload, disrupt or probe this site or the systems behind it.
• Do not reuse this site's content or design to make something that could be mistaken for an official communication of this committee or of the Republican Party.

Content, photographs and names

The text, photographs and design of this site belong to the committee or are used with permission. Photographs of officers, candidates and members are published with their permission for use here, and are not to be reused elsewhere.

You may quote and share this site with attribution. You may not use the committee's name, its logo, or the Republican Party's marks in a way that suggests we endorse you, your business, your organization or your candidacy.

If these terms change

We may update this page. The date at the top is when it was last reviewed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the version then posted.

Florida law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Florida, and any dispute arising from them belongs in the state courts of Polk County, Florida. If a court finds any part of this page unenforceable, the rest of it still stands.
