Representative Jennifer Canady represents District 50 in the Florida House of Representatives, anchored in the City of Lakeland. A career educator, she was elected in 2022 and currently serves as Chair of the House Education & Employment Committee, with additional service on the Budget, Rules & Ethics, and Security & Threat Assessment committees.
House Republicans selected Canady as Speaker-designate, putting her on track to lead the chamber. Her leadership provides Polk County direct influence over statewide education policy, workforce training, and budget allocations. She faces Democrat Ricky Santiago in the November 3 general election.
